Custom Outdoor Zip Screens & Patio Shades for Your Home
Motorized Zipper Track Shades for Patios, Porches, Balconies, and Outdoor Living Spaces
Origami Shades & Draperies manufactures custom outdoor zip screens and patio shades for homeowners who want more comfort, privacy, shade, and protection in their outdoor living areas. Also known as zipper track shades, zip track screens, or outdoor patio screens, zip screens use side channels to keep the fabric secure and reduce gaps along the edges.
Outdoor zip screens are a great solution for covered patios, porches, balconies, pergolas, gazebos, outdoor kitchens, lanais, and commercial outdoor spaces. They help reduce sunlight, glare, heat, wind, insects, pollen, and outside visibility while keeping your outdoor area clean, modern, and usable.
Every zip screen is custom made based on your opening size, fabric selection, frame color, control option, and installation requirements. We offer free consultation, professional measurement, custom manufacturing, motorized options, and installation for customers in Georgia, Texas, Washington, Florida, Virginia, Arizona, and North New Jersey.
What Are Outdoor Zip Screens?
Outdoor zip screens are exterior shade systems designed for patios, porches, balconies, pergolas, and other covered outdoor areas. The screen fabric rolls up and down inside a cassette or housing, while the fabric edges stay inside side tracks.
This side-track system helps keep the screen more stable than traditional outdoor shades. It also helps reduce gaps on the sides, giving your outdoor area better shade, privacy, insect protection, and wind resistance.
Zip screens are especially popular for homeowners who want to turn an open patio or porch into a more comfortable outdoor living space without building permanent walls.

Zip Screens vs. Zipper Track Shades
Many customers search for both “zip screens” and “zipper track shades.” These terms usually describe the same type of outdoor shade system.
The product is called a zip screen because the fabric edges are guided inside side tracks. Many people also call it a zipper track shade because the edge of the fabric works with a zipper-style system that keeps the screen secured inside the channels.
No matter which name you use, Origami Shades & Draperies can help you design custom outdoor zip screens that fit your space, style, and outdoor comfort needs.

Benefits of Outdoor Zip Screens
Shade and Heat Reduction
Outdoor zip screens help block direct sunlight before it reaches your patio, porch, or windows. This can make your outdoor space more comfortable during hot days and reduce harsh sunlight around your home.

Glare Control
Zip screens reduce bright glare, making outdoor seating areas, patios, and covered spaces more enjoyable for relaxing, dining, watching TV, or working outside.

Insect and Pollen Protection
The side-channel system helps reduce gaps around the screen, making zip screens a great option for customers who want more protection from mosquitoes, flies, pollen, and outdoor debris.

Privacy for Outdoor Living
Outdoor zip screens can help block views from neighbors, streets, and nearby properties while still allowing airflow and a clean outdoor look.

Wind Resistance
Because the fabric is held inside side tracks, zip screens are more stable than many traditional patio shades. They are a strong option for covered outdoor spaces that need better fabric control.

Clean Modern Design
Zip screens create a smooth, modern appearance for patios, porches, balconies, and outdoor living spaces. They can be customized with different fabric colors, frame colors, and control options.

Custom Outdoor Zip Screens Made for Your Space
Outdoor openings are not always standard size. Patios, porches, pergolas, balconies, and gazebos often have different widths, heights, columns, beams, and structural conditions. That is why custom measurement is very important.
At Origami Shades & Draperies, we measure your outdoor space carefully and help you choose the right screen system, fabric openness, frame color, and motorization option. Your zip screens are made to fit your exact opening and installed by professionals.

Outdoor Zip Screen Fabric Options
The fabric you choose affects shade, privacy, airflow, visibility, and overall comfort. During your consultation, we help you choose the right outdoor screen fabric based on your goals and your local climate.

Solar Screen Fabric
Solar screen fabric helps reduce glare, heat, and UV exposure while still allowing some visibility to the outside. It is a popular choice for patios, balconies, and outdoor seating areas.

Privacy Screen Fabric
Privacy fabrics help reduce visibility from the outside, making them a good option for street-facing patios, close neighbors, and outdoor areas where privacy matters.

Insect Screen Fabric
Tighter mesh fabrics can help reduce insects, pollen, and debris while still allowing airflow.

Heavy-Duty Outdoor Fabric
For larger openings or more exposed outdoor areas, heavier fabrics may provide better durability, stability, and protection.
